2011 meetings will be held at The Holt United Methodist Church., located at 2321 N. Aurelius Rd in Holt. It is located at the northwest corner of Cedar St and Aurelius road.  Coffee's on at 8:30am - Meeting starts at 9:00 am.

Our chapter activities are too numerous to mention them all. Over the years we have.....

  • painted the individual exhibits for the reptile and bird buildings at Potter Park Zoo;
  • had several mini conventions and week-end retreats;
  • published a cookbook (twice);
  • displayed our work in libraries;
  • exhibited at the Ionia and Ingham County fairs;
  • painted plates for the Greater Lansing Food bank,
  • worked with the children at  the Allen School and St Vincent’s Home.
  • and we continue to paint Memory Boxes for Ingham Regional Medical Center.

Fundraisers for Santa quilts resulted in one of them being in the permanent Santa collection at the MSU Museum.  We had a beautiful hand painted flower quilt we raffled in May, 2010.

We have Show & Tell at every meeting, have silent auctions, a UFO competition (unfinished project)  to inspire members to finish projects and many fun activities at all our meetings – raffles, make-it and take-it day, teach a friend to paint, and have teachers from around the country come to teach classes several times a year!  (see our Upcoming Special Events page).

Teachers we have had in the past include Pat Lentine, Judy Ribitch, Mark Polomchuk, Bess Daniel, Lynn Deptula, Judy Diephouse, and Kelly Hoernig, Maxine Thomas, and Cheri Rol to name a few.

For 2011 we have Sonja Richardson, Prudy Vannier, and Lynn Andrews scheduled.
Plus we will be hosting the Michigan Mixer in March, which is a mini-convention for all our Michigan Chapters.

The following is a list of the programs we have scheduled for our regular monthly meetings.  Take a look at the lovely projects we have scheduled!

Feb meeting painting on a navy blue sweatshirt with Julie Tews

You bring your own sweatshirt washed with no fabric softener in it.   No sign-up will be needed, the Cost is $5.00 just to cover buttons and paint.

 Make sure you save your wine bottles and corks.  This is a beginner project and we will paint the labels on wine bottles to hold decorative herbed vinegars.  There will be a recipe included or you can bring your own favorite with you to share with everyone.

Cost will be $2.00 to cover some of the paints and you bring your own wine bottle, painting supplies, masking tape, paper towels and normal painting supplies.  I will send a bit of prep instructions later in the year.
